“Wild” author Cheryl Strayed announced Thursday that her husband, Portland filmmaker Brian Lindstrom, “has been diagnosed with a serious, fatal illness,” and said she would be stepping back from public appearances.
Lindstrom is a documentary filmmaker and Lewis & Clark graduate who grew up in the Parkrose neighborhood of Portland. His work has often focused on people on the margins, struggling with addiction and poverty.
Lindstrom is Strayed’s second husband. The two have been married since 1999 and have two children.
