Felon charged after woman seriously injured in shotgun shooting, North Carolina police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A felon was arrested after a woman was injured in a shotgun shooting mid-morning Tuesday at a home just east of downtown Durham, police said.

The shooting was reported just after 8:40 a.m. at a home in the 1000 block of Lowry Avenue, near the corner of N. Alston Avenue and Holloway Street, according to a Durham Police Department news release.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with gunshot wounds. She was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that officers said did not appear to be life-threatening…
