Gas prices in Asheville area rise nearly 20 cents in days, averaging $4.03: GasBuddy

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Drivers in Asheville are paying significantly more at the pump this weekend after gas prices spiked again due to supply concerns and rapid cost fluctuations linked to the war in Iran.

Gasoline in the Asheville metro area — which includes Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson and Madison counties — is averaging $4.03 as of Friday afternoon, May 1, according to GasBuddy’s fuel insights. That is 20 cents higher than last week’s average and $1.25 higher than one year ago.

By comparison, gas prices in the Asheville area averaged $3.85 per gallon on Monday, April 27, meaning an 18-cent increase in just four days…
