Miami drug traffickers sentenced for murder over stolen meth

MIAMI, Florida — Two drug traffickers have been sentenced for the murder of a Miami man they believed stole $90,000 worth of methamphetamine, which was actually seized by law enforcement in 2022.

Tsvia Kol, of Hallandale, Florida, and Jimmy Sanchez, of Spring Valley, California, pleaded guilty to using a firearm to cause death and conspiring to distribute at least 500 grams of methamphetamine, according to a press release from Homeland Security Investigations. Kol received a sentence of over 19 years in federal prison, while Sanchez was sentenced to 27 years and six months.

“This pair of criminals valued their drug haul more than they valued a human life,” said ICE Director Todd M. Lyons. “They accused the victim of stealing about 11 pounds of meth and murdered him in cold blood, and now they’re going to spend the next few decades in prison.”…
