Suspect in Fort Pierce store manager killing allegedly boasted he felt ‘no remorse’

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — The suspect casually chatted with a Fort Pierce manager before emptying his gun into her and bragging he felt “no remorse,” chilling new court documents reveal.

According to a criminal complaint obtained Friday, 20-year-old Landen Julian Ballard was captured on Ring surveillance video on Tuesday engaging in “casual conversation” with store manager and victim, 35-year-old Lazaro Rodriguez Vega, for several minutes before the attack.

The affidavit states that while they spoke, Ballard was seen “fiddling with his phone” and “bouncing his leg” in anticipation…
