AUSTIN (KXAN) — A major overhaul of a highway in southwest Austin is almost done, and some recent construction progress is already making the drive faster.
The Texas Department of Transportation has checked off some recent milestones on the Oak Hill Parkway project.
Drivers can now travel both directions of U.S. Highway 290 through the Oak Hill corridor without stopping at a light. The eastbound U.S. 290 main lanes opened in March and the westbound main lanes opened in April.
