Albuquerque man sentenced for 2025 robbery, stabbing case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man involved in a 2025 stabbing was in court for a sentencing hearing Friday. Judge Cindy Leos sentenced Angelo Ray to seven years in prison.

Police said he got a 13-year-old to help him rob a man with a knife. They said Ray threatened a man with a knife near the Smoke City Smoke Shop in Albuquerque. The victim told police he was held down by Ray and then stabbed in the leg by the 13-year-old, requiring surgery for his injuries. The pair stole $250 from the victim and took his bike. Police said the teen’s mother, Tatiana Vigil, watched her son committing the crime, but told officers Ray was behind the crime and her son was innocent.
