EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The fun part — a photo op with golden shovels and rapturous visions of a 60-acre public green space that will be the jewel of McCutchanville — came Tuesday, when the nonprofit that bought part of the former Eagle Valley golf course broke ground on it.
The part that’s work — raising the $5 million that McCutchanville Greenway Park and Nature Preserve Inc. believes will be necessary to finish paying seller, the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. (EVSC), and set up the new public park’s infrastructure — is far from over.
