Saturday Night Live viewers were in stitches after Aziz Ansari’s spot-on impersonation of Kash Patel in a recent sketch.
The skit, which aired on May 3, featured Ansari alongside Colin Jost and another cast member playing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. The trio took the stage as they held a mock White House press conference, sparking plenty of laughs.
Ansari, stepping into the role of Kash Patel, was introduced by Jost’s Pete Hegseth as someone “almost certainly fired.” Playing up the moment, Ansari’s Patel confidently declared himself “the first Indian person to suck at their job.” With wide eyes and trademark humor, he said, “What up, what up, it’s K dot, aka Kash with a K, aka the most effective FBI director this country’s ever had, Kash Patel.”
The joke continued with Patel addressing critics, claiming the FBI was “only six weeks away from pinpointing the exact location of Osama Bin Laden.” He urged reporters to focus less on “lies and gossip” and more on his “historic appointment.”
“I’m a trailblazer,” Aziz’s Patel proclaimed, “the first Indian person to suck at their job. Everyone says Indian people are smart, hardworking, incredibly intelligent. I prove without a shadow of a doubt that we can be just as incapable and incompetent as the whites.”
