Marco Rubio Surprises Guests by DJing at Family Wedding

Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently showcased a surprising new skill-DJing at a family wedding-earning him the playful nickname “Secretary of Everything.”

A video posted on social media by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino captures Rubio behind the DJ booth, headphones on, as he mixes music alongside the official wedding DJ. The clip shows a lively scene, with guests dancing and cheering around Rubio, who is typically seen in a more formal capacity.

Scavino’s caption highlighted the moment: “MOMENTS AGO, BEHIND THE SCENES-Our Great Secretary of State @MarcoRubio DJ’s weddings too! Here he is in action tonight at a family wedding… Let’s goooooo!!!”

The lighthearted moniker “Secretary of Everything” stems from Rubio’s multifaceted roles within the Trump administration, which have reportedly included responsibilities ranging from Secretary of State to National Security Adviser, and even Head Archivist of the National Archives.

The wedding where Rubio spun tunes was for a relative of Scavino, adding a personal touch to the occasion. Rubio isn’t the only MAGA figure to try his hand at DJing-former President Donald Trump is known for DJing at his own events at Mar-a-Lago, often favoring show tunes and enthusiastically dancing to the Village People’s iconic “YMCA,” which he has called the “gay national anthem.”

During a recent speech, Trump even shared that First Lady Melania Trump disapproves of his fondness for dancing to the song at rallies. “She hates when I dance to, at the end, to – she hates when I dance to what’s sometimes referred to as the gay national anthem. She hates it,” he admitted.

Trump also claimed that his 2024 campaign helped propel “YMCA” to the No. 1 spot on the charts decades after its original release-a claim that doesn’t align with chart history, as the song actually debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978.

Still, the playful moments of Rubio’s wedding DJ debut and Trump’s ongoing enthusiasm for “YMCA” highlight a lighter side of the political figures often seen in more serious roles.
