The New York State Attorney General’s Office announced on Friday that Purdue Pharma has been shut down for its role in fueling the opioid crisis, and replaced by a new public benefit corporation dedicated to ending the long battle against drugs.
“It’s good to see justice being served for what has happened, what has occurred just in terms of the opioid epidemic,” said Carmello Hernandez, commissioner of the Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene.
