WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH) — There was a welcome and a sendoff for a large group of veterans at Bradley International Airport.
Saturday was the Honor Flight Connecticut, bringing veterans and others from Bradley to Washington, D.C. on a Breeze Airways flight to visit the memorials that commemorate their service and recognize the brave servicemembers who have risked their lives in combat.
“This shows patriotism,” Gary Roy of the World War II Legacy Foundation said. “You really need to thank every veteran you possibly see, they just don’t hear it enough. And you don’t realize it, but they do really appreciate it.”…
