Spokane man arrested after threats tied to Mar-a-Lago

Spokane, Wash. — A 74-year-old Spokane man was arrested after police said calls threatening The Villages and Mar-a-Lago led Florida authorities to contact Spokane officers.

According to Spokane police, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in Florida reached out at about 10:40 a.m. on May 2, 2026, after tracing the phone number to a Spokane resident.
