Elite athletes excited to compete for 50th Anniversary Bloomsday championship

SPOKANE, Wash. — The 2026 Bloomsday elite athlete field has descended on Spokane as dozens of professional runners will vie for a 50th Anniversary Bloomsday crown.

Race organizer Andy LaFriec said this year has been tough to schedule due to issues with international athletes acquiring visas and flights to travel to Spokane, but this year’s race is still loaded with professional talent.

The men’s elite race will have a first time champion this season and features reigning Boulevard Race champion Reid Buchanan, who will try and win his first Bloomsday title after finishing second back in 2022…
