Trial date set for Michigan man accused of kidnapping Iowa child

WATERLOO, Iowa — A trial date is set for the Michigan man accused of kidnapping an eastern Iowa child in April.

On April 5, officials issued an Amber Alert for a 12-year-old girl who was last seen in Waterloo. The alert stated the child was last seen with a man in his late 20s to early 30s, traveling in a Red Toyota Camry.

The Waterloo Police Department says the vehicle was found by authorities in Coloma Township, Michigan, within an hour of the alert being issued. The child was reportedly found safe law enforcement.
