SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — One person is dead and multiple people were injured after a vehicle hit a pedestrian then a tree in San Diego on Sunday.
Traffic was closed in both directions on Navajo Road from Cowles Mountain Boulevard to Golfcrest Drive in the Lake Murray neighborhood. First responders at the scene said the road was expected to stay closed through the late afternoon on Sunday as crews cleared the scene.

San Diego Police said in an update a 35-year-old woman was driving a Mazda car just before 11:40 a.m. Sunday when she reportedly drove up onto the sidewalk in the area of 7500 Navajo Road and hit an 18-year-old pedestrian.
