AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Monday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of eastbound I-40 and the left lane of westbound I-40 at the BI-40 intersection to be closed due to bridge work. Eastbound I-40 traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
- Drivers can expect the right lane of State Loop (SL) 335 at SH 136 to be closed for patching operations.
Tuesday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of eastbound I-40 and the left lane of westbound I-40 at the BI-40 intersection to be closed due to bridge work. Eastbound I-40 traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
- Drivers can expect various lane closures on FM 1912 near the Tyson Foods plant to be closed for patching operations. The work is expected to be closed by Thursday, May 7.
Wednesday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of westbound I-40 and the left lane of eastbound I-40 at the BI-40 intersection to be closed due to bridge work. Westbound I-40 traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
- Beginning at 8 a.m., drivers can expect the northbound lane of US 287 in Armstrong County at mile marker 150, just east of CR 21, to be closed for mill and fill operations. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, May 7 at 5 p.m. The closure will remain in place throughout the duration of the work.
- Drivers can expect SH 23 to be closed in both directions at Kiowa Creek in Lipscomb County due to bridge demolition. The suggested detour for traffic will be SH 15 to SH 305 to FM 3260, then back onto SH 23. The work is expected to be completed by the end of May.
Thursday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of westbound I-40 and the left lane of eastbound I-40 at the BI-40 intersection to be closed due to bridge work. Westbound I-40 traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
Friday,
- Drivers can expect the main lanes of westbound I-40 and the left lane of eastbound I-40 at the BI-40 intersection to be closed due to bridgework. Westbound I-40 traffic will be detoured to the frontage roads.
Throughout the Week
- Drivers can expect various lane closures in both directions of State Loop (SL) 335 from Bell Street to Arden Road for seal coat operations.
- Drivers can expect various lane closures and a speed limit reduction on FM 1267 in Ochiltree County near Perryton due to seal coat operations.
