Woman charged with DUI, accused of crashing into APD unit

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – A police officer is recovering Sunday after police say a woman crashed into his unit while under the influence. According to police, the officer was driving on Rio Grande near I-40 Saturday night, around 10:20 p.m., when his car was randomly T-boned by another driver.

Officers say the woman driving, 57-year-old Susan Gray, appeared to be swaying and was speaking slowly. Police say Gray had taken anti-depressant medication just hours before the crash.

Police also say Gray submitted to a blood test, and her drug test came back positive for it, saying she could not safely operate a vehicle. Gray is facing a DUI charge. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be okay…
