BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Tool Library is expanding its mission of reuse and accessibility beyond tools, offering residents a way to share and grow through its Little Free Seed Library located in a pocket park outside its Main Street storefront.
Darren Cotton, executive director of The Tool Library, described the space as an extension of the organization’s broader ethos of sharing resources within the community. Cotton said the seed library is designed to make gardening more accessible and encourage residents to take part in growing their own food and plants. “This is a place where people can come, stop, grab seed packets, perennials, annuals, vegetables.”
He added that the initiative reflects a belief in low-cost, community-based access to gardening. He explained, “That is our ethos- being able to share the things that we need.”…
