Early Monday turned chaotic along one of South Nashville’s busiest stretches, as two people were injured when shots rang out in a parking lot off Murfreesboro Pike, according to police. Officers responding to reports of gunfire near 888 Murfreesboro Pike found two wounded individuals who were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately released, and no arrests have been announced.
What investigators say
Metro Police told NewsChannel 5 that a vehicle pulled into the lot near 888 Murfreesboro Pike, opened fire on a grey Dodge Charger, then took off. Two people were hurt in the barrage. Officers stayed on scene into the morning, collecting evidence and trying to piece together what led up to the attack.
