Woman charged with shooting toward man, young children in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman is facing several felony charges after allegedly firing a gun toward a family with young children near the Germantown area.

According to arrest documents, on Saturday, around 10 p.m. on May 2, a man and his two children—ages 10 and 7—were walking to their vehicle following a Nashville Sounds game when the children started playing with a rentable E-scooter that was on the sidewalk in the area of 900 Monroe Street. When the scooter started beeping, they reportedly leaned it against a fence of a nearby residence.

Reports said a woman, identified as Iyauna Clay, 22, came out of the house and began arguing with the man. The argument reportedly escalated as they both got into their vehicles. Clay allegedly got out of the car and began making threats with a Glock 19 handgun before firing one shot at the ground in the family’s direction…
