Arcadian Shores beach renourishment to begin this week; equipment issues cause delays

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Myrtle Beach City Government said beach renourishment for the Arcadian Shores project is scheduled to begin later Monday or Tuesday.

Officials said the dredge Amelia Island is coming Monday and the contractor, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, plans to return with the dredge today. Then, officials said they will begin calibrations and begin work by Tuesday.

Then, officials said crews will start beach renourishment in the Horry County section, generally from Singleton Swash to Apache Pier, to avoid ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic events.
