Imagine spending over two years and being one of the first schools to offer an in-state player before they got any kind of a following. Imagine getting that player on campus numerous times, only for that player to go to a school several hours away once and completely turn the tide in that recruitment.
That’s what happened with four-star quarterback Wonderful “Champ” Monds, who chose the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over the Florida State Seminoles a few days ago. It wasn’t a shock since the predictions for Monds to choose Notre Dame were already out there, and Florida State was already scrambling for plan B or C.
