The Jazz Station Jam: an approachable gateway to jazz music

On the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month, The Jazz Station hosts The Jazz Station Jam, a night of fun improvisation and spectacular music. The Jazz Station, located on West Broadway, is a nonprofit organization that has been providing performance opportunities for local musicians for over 15 years.

For $15 per ticket and $10 for jammers, the event is open to musicians of all skill levels. This jam session is a chance to play in a low-pressure environment, welcoming any instruments and songs. It works like an open mic, but musicians instead play with a whole band, improvising and riffing off one another.

Each session has a rotating host, a local professional bringing a new style to the table every time and a professional rhythm section. On April 22, 2026, the host was Joe Manis on the saxophone.
