Carson City Health and Human Services will carry out mosquito abatement treatments the morning of Thursday, May 7, focusing on several public areas across the city, including Anderson/Buzzy Ranch, River View Park, Linear Ditch, and ponds east of I-580.
Officials said the operation will use a drone for aerial applications, a move aimed at improving precision when treating standing water where mosquitoes breed. The approach is designed to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne illness, including West Nile virus.
