MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The local average price of regular unleaded gas surpassed the $4 per gallon milestone over the weekend. Prices shot up 24 cents in a week’s time, according to AAA.
“It’s just terrible, because I feel like you’re going to work to pay for gas and pay for bills,” explained Stephanie Smith, an East Memphis resident.
As the number at the pump continues to climb, Smith told FOX13 she will have to cut back. She said she used to volunteer to help kids in Oxford, but now that drive is too expensive…
