Heavy snow in forecast could lead to power outages across the Front Range

LITTLETON, Colo. (KDVR) — Xcel Energy has sent out a release saying the company is putting extra crews on standby due to the very heavy wet snow in the forecast.

That type of snow can lead to power outages. Downed trees and limbs can also cause some real problems.

The Natural Way Tree and Lawncare company’s production manager said both large and small branches must be pruned in various areas of the tree.

“By pruning the tree, keeping the tree well pruned, thinned out, keeping dead wood out of there, you are going to take a lot of weight off the specific region of the tree,” Natural Way Production Manager David Boswell said…
