DA: WNC man sentenced to 6 years for repeat DWI crashes

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) — A Transylvania County man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to several charges, including driving while under the influence.

According to District Attorney R. Andrew Murray, on April 30, 34-year-old Justin Cody Moore from Brevard pleaded guilty to the charges of:

  • Two counts of driving while impaired, or DWI
  • Driving while license revoked after a prior DWI conviction
  • Producing an invalid license from a different state
  • Failing to stop at a steady red light
  • Failing to maintain lane control
  • Failing to wear a seat belt

The district attorney said troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol were called to a crash at the intersection of US-64 and Old Homestead Road in Henderson County.
