Cited and released: Obie’s clerk accused of selling alcohol to minor in BPD sting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A downtown convenience store employee was arrested, cited, and released after they allegedly sold alcohol to a minor during a BPD operation.

The Bakersfield Police Department said on April 30th, 2026, BPD Vice detectives, in partnership with California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), conducted a Minor Decoy operation in downtown Bakersfield.

A Minor Decoy operation focuses on businesses that sell alcohol to underage people. Police said a minor under the age of 21 enters a licensed establishment, presents valid identification indicating they are underage, and tries to purchase alcohol…
