EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Evansville Police Department is investigating a troubling case of animal cruelty after a cat was found with multiple stab wounds on the city’s east side.

The incident occurred on Austin Avenue near Claremont. The victim, a two-year-old cat named Tater, is a beloved family pet who is now recovering after receiving emergency veterinary care.

Tater’s owner says she was alerted to the situation Sunday afternoon when a neighbor called to report that the cat had been seriously injured. “He could barely walk, and his back end was just covered in blood,” she said…
