Man charged with homicide in infant’s death seeks to waive preliminary hearing

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A man charged with homicide in connection with the death of a four-month-old child has asked the court to cancel a scheduled Wednesday preliminary hearing, waiving his right to the court date.

In a motion filed on Monday, attorneys for Mickele Ah-Nee gave up their opportunity to challenge probable cause in District Court in the early stages of proceedings. If the judge grants the motion, the case would move directly to the Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.
