South SF Senior Killed In Chestnut And Mission Crosswalk Horror

Last Tuesday, it turned deadly at one of South San Francisco’s busier intersections, after an 89-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at Chestnut Avenue and Mission Road and later died at a hospital, officials said. The collision was reported just after 11:30 AM, and emergency crews rushed the victim to a nearby medical center, where the person was pronounced dead.

Victim identified

Authorities have identified the pedestrian as Fidel Bautista, 89, of South San Francisco, according to SFGATE. Bautista was transported to an area hospital following the crash and later died there, the outlet reported.

According to the South San Francisco Police Department, the crash was reported just after 11:30 AM at Chestnut Avenue and Mission Road. The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
