Honduran fugitive captured in Texas after alleged assault in New York

HOUSTON, Texas — A 32-year-old Honduran national was apprehended in Texas after allegedly assaulting a man in New York, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

ICE lodged an immigration detainer with the Fort Bend County Jail on April 4 against Jose Ignacio Bonilla-Garcia, who was arrested on a criminal warrant from Suffolk County, New York. Bonilla-Garcia is accused of beating a man unconscious, dragging him behind a dumpster, and raping him while incapacitated.
