Texas Tech Grad Introduces Collapsible Kayak For Local Water Adventures

A new Kickstarter campaign is putting Lubbock on the map in the outdoor gear world, thanks to a lightweight, packable kayak designed by a local entrepreneur.

The project, called Pontos, was created by Adam Mulsow , a Texas Tech graduate who developed the idea right here in Lubbock. What started as a garage project has grown into a full-fledged startup, now preparing for a crowdfunding launch.

A Kayak Designed for Simplicity and Portability

Unlike traditional kayaks, Pontos is built to be collapsible and easy to transport. The latest version weighs around seven pounds and packs down to the size of a small tent, making it far more convenient than standard models that can weigh several times more.
