All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ chain closes its only San Antonio location

All-you-can-eat barbecue chains have been moving into San Antonio, with KPOT, Dae Gee and Honey Pig cropping up restaurants across the city. However, one of those out-of-town chains seems to have disappeared from the Alamo City, leaving some customers questioning what happened.

A post on the San Antonio Restaurant Facebook group sparked discussion about San Antonio’s only Gen Korean BBQ House location, which several commenters said closed permanently. The restaurant chain has an Instagram account just for its San Antonio location, and that profile hasn’t been active since September 26, 2025. However, it is unclear when exactly the restaurant went dark.

MySA attempted to reach out to Gen Korean BBQ House by phone, but the number listed for the San Antonio location was disconnected. We also sent a direct message to the restaurant’s Instagram, but we have not yet received a response. The location still appears on Gen Korean BBQ House’s website (alongside its disconnected phone number), but Google and Yelp both list the business as permanently closed.

Gen Korean BBQ House opened its first and, to date, only San Antonio outpost around February of 2025, adding to the all-you-can-eat options in the Huebner Oaks Center. A second Gen Korean BBQ House was allegedly supposed to go up in the Brooks City Base area, but that location has yet to materialize as of Tuesday, May 5…
