Fourth person allegedly involved in deadly Apple Tree Inn stabbing arrested, charged with murder

SPOKANE, Wash. — A fourth person allegedly involved in a deadly stabbing at the Apple Tree Inn in February was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

45-year-old Tommy Elands appeared before a Spokane County commissioner on Tuesday for a murder with robbery charge. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

Court documents show that Elands is accused of going into the Apple Tree Inn alongside 47-year-old Richard Sheppard, who was shot and killed by police in late February, and stabbing a man to death…
