Middleburg Bank Robbery Suspect Skips Court; Warrants Issued

The man accused of acting as the getaway driver in three area bank robberies failed to appear in court today. Arrest warrants have been issued.

Paul Peter Gerardi Jr. is charged with robbery and robbery with serious injury in connection with the armed bank robbery of the Truist Bank in Middleburg on March 24 and is facing robbery charges in Fairfax and Prince William counties for bank robberies in those jurisdictions as well.

Court documents say investigators believe Gerardi was the getaway driver in all three robberies. His alleged accomplice, who carried out the robberies themselves, died by suicide at his home in Hamilton after law enforcement went to his house to arrest him in April…
