LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — With spring in full swing, construction teams and company officials are set to piece together the new Publix coming to the Romany neighborhood.
In a news release just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, project manager Trae Shipley announced that a crane would arrive around May 13 to start installing precast panels for the new Publix facade and parking decks.

Officials noted that assembling the panels would require multiple 18-wheelers driving to and from the construction site for the next seven to eight weeks.
“We will have signage posted on some lane closures on Romany and Duke per our permits for this portion of the project,” Shipley said. “We will try to keep the impact of traffic at a minimum, but this as you probably know will be challenging for all of us.”
