Hope Gardens pushes to reclaim ‘sense of community’ by resisting short-term rentals

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A North Nashville neighborhood is teaming up to get rid of short-term rental properties in their community.

Hope Gardens is a tight-knit community right outside downtown Nashville with about 200 houses. Kevin Griffith, Hope Gardens Neighborhood Association President, told News 2 about 20% of those homes are short-term rentals.

The main problem, according to Griffith and other neighbors, isn’t that there are so many STRs — rather that their owners don’t actually live in them.
