ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Vortex Doughnuts employees say they are still waiting to be paid after the popular Asheville donut shop abruptly closed last month.
An employee posted an update to Vortex Doughnuts’ Instagram page on Tuesday, May 5, expressing support for the Asheville community and local small businesses that helped them after the closure.
In the multi-slide Instagram post, an employee said they and several other now-former Vortex employees filed claims with the Department of Labor and applied for unemployment. As of Tuesday, however, the post said these unemployment claims had not yet been approved…
