Superintendent Will Schofield announced on Wednesday, May 6, his intent to recommend West Hall High School Principal Dr. Ley Hathcock as principal of the Hall County School District’s Virtual Program of Choice.
The Hall County School District said Schofield will present his recommendation at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 11.
Dr. Scott Tipton, current VPOC principal, plans to retire in late fall of this year.
“When Dr. Tipton shared his plans to retire, the district began looking for a candidate with the skill set to ensure VPOC continues to provide a high-quality online educational experience,” Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Suzanne Jarrard said. “Dr. Hathcock had already expressed a desire to pursue a new challenge, and we were aware of his experience with online curriculum through the early development of the district’s e-courses. It quickly became clear that he would be a strong fit for the program.”…
