HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Hospital is now the first and only Anticoagulation Center of Excellence in Alabama, a designation leaders say reflects its work in providing high-level care for patients on blood-thinning medications.
The designation recognizes hospitals that meet strict national standards for managing antithrombotic therapies, which are used to help prevent or treat blood clots and reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and venous thromboembolism.
