The Irish-American mental health awareness charity Solace House will be hosting its annual 5K Solace Sunrise Walk at several locations in New York throughout May and June.
In 2015, Irish Senator Joan Freeman launched Solace House in New York City to provide mental health services to the city’s vibrant Irish diaspora. The debut came a year after the psychologist stepped down from Pieta House, a Dublin County-based suicide intervention charity she founded in 2006, which, since 2008, has hosted a similar annual fundraising event called Darkness into Light.
Now, Solace House has expanded its services throughout New York State and New Jersey to people of all backgrounds and hosts an annual 5K charity walk to raise awareness about suicide prevention…
