In its sophomore year, Maifest returns to the grounds of Crystal Springs Hideaway — the Fort Worth River District’s neighborhood beer garden and hangout — May 29–31 for another celebration of the German traditions woven into the culture, kitchens, and breweries of Fort Worth in the mid-1800s.
Though similar in name, Maifest (pronounced “My-Fest”) is a separate event from the recently concluded Mayfest in Trinity Park. Maifest aligns with the spirit of a spring celebration, with plenty of food and drinks in which to partake, but traces its origins to a centuries-old festival in Germany — placing it closer in tradition to Fort Worth’s Oktoberfest.
Over 25 draft beers will be on tap for the occasion (including Paulaner and Spaten Bavarian brews — historic Munich staples from across the Atlantic), with a $5 special running on select ales and ample wine selections.
