LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas said on Wednesday that a Pine Bluff woman is going to prison for stealing from the customers of the Simmons Bank where she worked.
Officials said 59-year-old Laura Parrish received a 36-month federal prison sentence and three years of supervised release after a December 2025 plea agreement for bank theft. Parrish was taking money from customers’ bank accounts, officials said.

Between July 2021 and January 2024, Parrish embezzled approximately $413,871.40 from eight bank customers, officials added, and was ordered to repay that amount in restitution, plus a $100 court fee.
Investigators found that in one case, Parrish embezzled $364,000 from one family’s account to pay her credit card bills and make loans to herself and her business, Southern Roots and Blooms, while she was employed by Simmons Bank as a trust administrator between August 2021 and April 2023…
