GREEN — A former horse farm complex visible from Interstate 77 in Green may soon become a residential community called Greensburg Meadow if the project is approved.
The approximately 31-acre site is located on Greensburg Road along the northern section of Winning Way, directly east of I-77. The applicant, Sommers Development Group, is seeking approval of a concept plan and rezoning request to change the zoning from R-1 (Single-Family Residential) to PD (Planned Development).
According to the plans, the project would include a roadway system, walking trail, individual fee-simple lots and 7.19 acres of open space areas. The plans show approximately 101 single-family lots with a boulevard-style entrance from Greensburg Road. Several modifications have been made by the applicant to the plan layout, access and open space design following previous reviews and discussions of the site with the Green Planning and Zoning Commission. There is also fencing and evergreen plantings proposed for the western edge of the site to provide buffering of I-77.
