Bald eagles rescued from Loudoun County landfill released back to wild

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Two bald eagles are back in the wild in Virginia after they were poisoned at the Loudoun County landfill earlier this week.

The Blue Ridge Wildlife Center (BRWC) said that it first received a call about eagles in distress at the Loudoun County landfill.

The caller reported three immature bald eagles in distress. Rescuers said one of the eagles flew away when they tried to capture it.

BRWC released the two eagles at Sycolin Creek Elementary School in Loudoun County early Wednesday afternoon.
