Man wanted in MPD officer shooting now in custody, woman arrested as accessory, TBI confirms

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Authorities have captured the man accused of shooting a Memphis Police officer in Parkway Village in February 2026, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirms.

According to an update shared by the TBI, Danell Jarvis Maxwell, 40, was located and arrested in Memphis early Thursday morning, May 7, by U.S. Marshals and deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive team.

He has been charged with criminal attempted first-degree murder and the employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony. He is being held on a $3 million bond, according to police records…
