‘Overjoyed’: Victims react to Aqua Kingz owner sentencing

LUBBOCK, Texas — A judge gave a Lubbock business owner accused of scamming customers prison time in Denton County this week.

Roderick Jeffrey was charged with theft of between $30,000 and $150,000, after several people said they paid him large down payments— up to tens of thousands of dollars—for pool construction, only to end up with little to no work done.

“It’s been a long journey, and we’re just really glad that he did get what he deserved,” said Nicole Conner, who lives in Denton.
