University City senior detained weeks before graduation

UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. – A University City High School senior scheduled to graduate May 18 is being held in federal immigration custody and now faces the possibility of missing commencement with her classmates.

Paola Rodriguez Boton, 18, is detained at the Ste. Genevieve County Jail after being arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. FOX 2 held a video visitation with Rodriguez Boton on Wednesday. She tells FOX 2 she was detained during an immigration appointment on April 28 at ICE’s downtown St. Louis field office.
